Shehbaz reminds PTI about probe in 2018 elections ‘rigging’

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif in his address to the opposition’s All Parties Conference (APC) held at Marriott Hotel Islamabad Sunday recalled when a selected prime minister on the floor of the House promised to the people of Pakistan to form a committee on pre-election rigging and political-engineering. The committee formed was supposed to probe the discrepancies in the general elections and the disappearance of the RTS system but actually it had actually not made even “an inch of progress”.

He said the government has failed miserably and it would be a crime to keep silence against the non-democratic government. "[The government] alleges that the opposition did not cooperate. I am ready for a probe so what bigger lie can there be?"

Shehbaz Sharif said that revenge is being taken in the name of accountability. The floods wreaked havoc in the country and the Prime Minister was unable to help the people and left them at the mercy of the floodwaters.

The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly said Imran Khan’s announcement of Karachi package was like getting away with the problem in a rush. Shehbaz Sharif said that the dictatorships in the country's history had not only put a black mark on the democracy but also damaged the judiciary.

He compared the prices of sugar, flour and pulses in the incumbent government with the era of the PML-N government. He questioned the PTI government how many public welfare projects it has started?

This government has got unthinkable and unprecedented support from the Institutions but still unfortunately did not deliver to the people.

Talking about the foreign policy of the government, Shehbaz Sharif said government did not even spare all-weather friend China and mishandled the issue with brotherly country Saudi Arabia. “And Pakistan should not think about accepting Israel until the just settlement of the Palestine state as per the resolutions of the United Nations.”

Maryam Nawaz

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said with the Nawaz Sharif's speech media has broken the chains of fear. “I congratulate media and that chains should not be respected but must be broken. Today's APC will reach a logical conclusion,” she said, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
