Crackdown on unlicensed drivers in Islamabad from Oct 1‎

Islamabad Traffic Police has decided to launch a mass crackdown on unlicensed drivers with arrests and cases to be registered against ‎violators from October 1, reported 24NewsHD TV on Saturday.‎

According to the officials, the action will apply to both private and government vehicles, regardless of ownership.‎

Islamabad IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi has issued clear instructions to the traffic police to strictly ‎implement the decision.

Drivers without a valid license will be detained along with their vehicles at the police station.‎

For the convenience of government drivers, the facility of obtaining driving licenses has been provided in their ‎respective offices. ‎

Police sources said that, apart from registering cases, character certificates will not be issued until a license is ‎obtained.‎

Officials added that arrested drivers will not be granted personal bail, whether operating private or government ‎vehicles. ‎
