PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi says performance will be key for selection

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that young cricketers who perform well in the School Cricket Talent Hunt Programme will be given a place in the team on merit, 24News HD TV reported.

Speaking after the opening match of the talent hunt programme, Naqvi urged young players to work hard, assuring them that performance would be the key factor in selection.

He said the PCB would take 50 of the best-performing schools under its supervision to provide young cricketers with better opportunities to develop their skills.

Naqvi said agreements would also be signed with schools that do not have their own cricket grounds, while the PCB would ensure the availability of grounds for young players.

He reiterated that talented players who demonstrate strong performances would be given opportunities to progress and earn a place in the team.

The PCB chairman said the initiative was aimed at providing young cricketers with proper facilities and a fair opportunity to showcase their talent.
