Imran Khan undergoes medical checkup at Adiala Jail
A team of doctors, led by Dr Arif Khan from Islamabad’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), visited Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi on Sunday for a complete examination of the former prime minister and PTI founder, Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The team comprised doctors from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and the PIMS.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that the former prime minister’s blood pressure, cholesterol and eyes was checked.
The Supreme Court had on August 18 directed the Adiala jail authorities to move incarcerated Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital under tight security.
A three-member bench, headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, issued the interim order after hearing petitions concerning the former prime minister's medical treatment and meetings with his family members.
However, despite the court orders, the government, instead of shifting him to Shifa International Hospital, shifted him to the PIMS, prompting the PTI to file a contempt of court plea.
