Pakistan registers 10pc growth in textile exports

Pakistan on Monday witnessed 10 percent growth in exports of textile sector in March 2025 as compared with the same month of previous fiscal year 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In March 2025, textile sector exports stood at $1.4 billion. Exports of textile sector registered 1 percent growth on (MoM) basis while it stood 10 percent on (YoY) basis.

In March 2024, textile sector export reached to$1.3 billion. During first nine months of current fiscal year textile sector witnessed 9.40 percent growth in exports.

In the first nine months of current fiscal year Pakistan exported textile goods worth $13.61 billion.

In previous fiscal year, Pakistan textile sector exports stood at $12.44 billion.

Netwear exports increased by 15 percent worth $386 million during March 2025 as compared with the same period of previous fiscal year of 2024.

Exports of readymade garments registered 12 percent increase worth $321 million in March 2025 as compared with the same period last fiscal year.

Bedwear exports also showed increase of 19 percent worth $256 million.

Exports of towels registered 4 percent decrease involving $89 million as compared with the figures of previous fiscal year.

The exports of cotton yarn witnessed 30 percent growth worth $570 million in March 2025 as compared with the exports during the same period of previous fiscal year.

PM lauds 9.38% textiles exports surge

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday appreciated the 9.3% increase in the exports of Pakistan’s textile sector from July 2024 to March this year.  “The textile sector’s exports have reached a record high of $13.613 billion, which is highly encouraging. The 6.27% increase in textile exports in March compared to the previous month reflects the positive direction of Pakistan’s economic growth and government policies,” the prime minister said in a statement.

He said that the collaboration and tireless efforts of the government and the private sector led to the gradual increase in exports and other positive economic indicators.

The prime minister said that the government was working day and night to accelerate the development process further.

He said that the government was striving to provide a business-friendly environment to the private sector to ensure consistent growth in national exports.
