Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman should refrain from any adventure, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Talking to the media in Islamabad on Wednesday, the former information minister clarified that the vote on no confidence will not be held today as the speaker of the assembly had also issued a ruling in this regard.

He vowed a vote of confidence and no-trust motion against Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi would bear no fruit.

He said that Article 109 is very clear, a new session cannot be called until the ongoing session ends. “The work of dissolution of the assemblies will start from Friday, he said adding that both the KP and Punjab assemblies will be dissolved simultaneously after the no-confidence vote fails.

Meanwhile, federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah said that the government can impose the governor's rule in Punjab if the PTI takes any unconstitutional measure. He added that if imposed, the term of a governor’s rule was six months.

Replying to him, Fawad Ch said the government cannot impose governor rule in the province, saying under which law the government will impose the rule.

“Pervaiz Elahi is the chief minister and will remain,” he said adding that progress is being made on the seat adjustment with the PML-Q.
