The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has told Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan that his plea for the removal of terrorism provisions in the case of protest against Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will not be heard until he comes to the court for biometric verification, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the case.
“Currently, we are hearing the plea with an objection. How can we remove the objection of biometric verification?” Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked.
“Has Imran Khan got bail in this case?” he questioned.
“Imran Khan has got protective bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC),” Imran Khan’s lawyer told the IHC judge.
“A petition of Imran Khan was fake yesterday too? How can we be sure that this petition is not fake?” Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani questioned further.
“Tell Imran Khan to come and get biometric verification. Otherwise, his plea will not be heard,” Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani stated.
“We will not even listen to this plea until Imran Khan gets bail,” he added.
