Concerns mount as PTI-backed MNA Muhammad Ilyas remains unaccounted for

Concerns mount as Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas, the recently elected Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from constituency NA 62, remains unaccounted for since last night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The family of the missing MNA alleges that he was abducted by unknown individuals near the Jhelum river bridge.

According to reports, Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas was enroute to Islamabad to join the Sunni Ittehad Council Party when the alleged abduction took place. Despite nearly 19 hours passing since the incident, there has been no trace of the missing politician, leaving his family distraught and anxious for his safety.

Chaudhry Ilyas, who secured victory as an independent candidate in NA-62 with the backing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), hails from the Sarai Alamgir district of Gujarat.
