David Beckham pokes fun at haircut blunder
Former football star David Beckham recently amused fans by sharing a self-inflicted haircut mishap on social media.
The 50-year-old sports icon attempted a DIY buzz-cut at home but ended up with an uneven patch after the clippers slipped mid-shave.
Known for his ever-changing hairstyles over the years, Beckham initially aimed to revisit the clean-shaven look he famously sported during his footballing prime in the early 2000s. However, the attempt went sideways, leaving a noticeable bald patch on the top of his head.
Taking the incident in stride, Beckham posted an updated selfie showing a more even buzz-cut and asked his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, for feedback. In a lighthearted caption, he wrote: “UPDATE: The best I can do with the situation. @victoriabeckham still awful???”
Victoria, not missing the opportunity for some playful teasing, had earlier shared a video of the uneven haircut with her followers, joking: “It does not look good. I’ll always be honest with you – it looks terrible.” She later added, “I’m into it!” after seeing his revised look.
Despite the haircut drama, Beckham continues to focus on impactful causes. As he prepares to celebrate his milestone 50th birthday, he launched a fundraising appeal to support Unicef's global work for vulnerable children, particularly girls facing challenges like early marriage, violence, and lack of access to education and healthcare.
In a heartfelt message, Beckham said: “Next month, I turn 50. It’s made me reflect on the opportunities I’ve had and the experiences that shaped me. Some of the most meaningful moments in my life have come through my work with Unicfe .”
The football legend has served as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for over two decades, advocating for children’s rights worldwide.
“Every child deserves the chance to dream. Together, we can help make those dreams a reality,” he said, encouraging people to donate through his social media platforms.
