Tourists barred from visiting Saiful Malook Lake

The Deputy Commissioner Mansehra has imposed a complete ban on all tourists from visiting Saiful Malook Lake due to the rainy season and landsliding, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

After directives from the Deputy Commissioner, roads are closed for all kinds of traffic with immediate effect.

Police said that roads and Saiful Malook Lake will be reopened after the improvement in the weather.

Earlier, thousands of tourists, who had been left stranded on Naran-Jhal Khad and Jheel roads due to heavy rains in Mansehra, have been shifted to Naran. 

On the other hand, the rain spell in Mansehra entered its third day on Tuesday, while the district administration advised tourists to avoid travelling to northern areas during the next three to four days due to inclement weather.

More rains forecast for Islamabad

The Met Office predicted that intermittent rainfall would continue in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday as well.

It said that it might rain cats and dogs at some places. 

The maximum temperature in Islamabad was expected to go up to 32 degrees Celsius later in the day.

Breeze was blowing in the city at the speed of 13 kilometers per hour, while the level of moisture stood at 62 per cent.

Rain lashes Lahore 

Besides the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, rain also lashed different parts of Punjab, including Lahore, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Several feeders of GEPCO were tripped following rain in Wazirabad and adjoining areas.

Roads were flooded, while low-lying areas were inundated after thundershowers, heavy at some places, pounded Gujranwala and its surrounding areas for the second consecutive day.

Areas like Satellite Town, Model Town, Peoples Colony, Hafizabad Road, Sialkot Road and Chanda Qila received heavy rain.

Similarly, heavy rain left Gujrat completely submerged.

The situation was even worse in Narowal where rainwater entered people’s homes.

Two-feet of water was reported from Purani Kuchehry Road, Eidgah Road, Karbala Morr, Zafarwal Road, passport office, CO Education Office and CO Health Office.    

Temperatures plummeted following torrential rain in and around Mandi Bahauddin.

Likewise, rain was also reported from Kamonke, Shakargarh, Bhakkar, Kharian and Sarai Alamgir. 

Although, Sarai Alamgir received light rain, still it was enough to cause colossal loss to shopkeepers as water entered their shops.

More rains forecast

Meanwhile, the weather department predicted more rainfall in Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, KP and Punjab.

It said that torrential rains were expected at a few places.

Mainly, hot and dry weather is likely over the rest of the country.
