Police foil another terrorist attack on checkpost in DG Khan

Punjab police have foiled another attack by Khawarji terrorists on a police checkpost in Dera Ghazi Khan early Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Punjab police spokesperson, this was the fifth attack by Khwarji terrorists on Lakhani check post of Wahwa police station on Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border this month.

At dawn, 10 to 12 Khwarji terrorists attacked Lakhani check post from three sides and they used rocket launchers and other heavy weapons in the attack, spokesperson said.

When the police personnel were alerted, the terrorists were immediately identified with thermal image cameras. 

The terrorists failed to reach the check post due to the strong response of the police personnel.

After two hours of fighting, the terrorists escaped with heavy losses. 

RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Captain (R) Sajjad Hassan Khan commanded the operation. 

QRF teams under the command of DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali reached Lakhani post on time. 

Search operation of police and law enforcement agencies is underway in boarder area. 

IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised officials for bravely confronting terrorists.

IG Punjab said Khwarji terrorists cannot shake our resolve with cowardly attacks. 

Punjab Police is a leaden wall in front of Khwarji terrorists, Punjab IGP said.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police for foiling the attack by Khwarij terrorists on a police checkpost in Taunsa.

In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said that the police bravely confronted the Khawarij terrorists and repelled the attack. 

I commend the police team for foiling the attack by Khawarij terrorists, Mohsin Naqvi said.

Mohsin Naqvi said the brave men of Dera Ghazi Khan Police have bravely repelled the attacks of Khawarij terrorists before too. 

The Punjab Police gave a befitting reply to the attack by Khawarij terrorists in a very professional manner and foiled their nefarious intentions, Mohsin Naqvi said.

I congratulate the entire police team for foiling the nefarious intentions of the terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij, he added.

He said I am proud of the brave and professional men of Punjab Police.
