BJP's IT head and TV editor booked over false war propaganda
Indian Youth Congress registers case in Bengaluru on BJP's Amit and Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami
A legal case has been filed not only against the controversial Indian ruling party-backed editor-in-chief of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami, but also against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Information Technology (IT) Cell's Head, Amit Malviya.
According to the Indian media reports, police in Bangalore confirmed that the Indian Youth Congress lodged the complaint, accusing both figures of spreading false information during the recent conflict between Pakistan and India.
The complainant alleged that Goswami and Malviya conspired to intentionally circulate fake news as part of a premeditated and criminal plan to manipulate public perception in favour of the BJP.
It is worth recalling that during the Pakistan-India standoff, Arnab Goswami actively pushed pro-government narratives that were later widely criticised as baseless propaganda.
Arnab Goswami's broadcasts not only misled the Indian population but also attracted international mockery.
On live television yesterday, Goswami faced fresh embarrassment when guest Christine Fair, a professor of security studies at Georgetown University, abruptly exited his show.
Later, Fair explained her walkout via a post on the social media platform X, stating she left because of the “warmongering nonsense” in the broadcast. “Everyone was just screaming,” she wrote, calling the debate environment chaotic and senseless.
This latest controversy has intensified public scrutiny over India's media ethics and the political exploitation of information during times of national crisis.
