Punjab Govt announces summer vacations for schools, colleges

Punjab Government has officially announced summer vacations for all public and private educational institutions including schools and colleges starting from May 22, 2026.

This decision was made by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat to protect students and staff from the intense heatwave and rising temperatures across the province.

Schools are scheduled to remain closed for three months with regular academic activities set to resume on August 24 2026. Parents and students should prepare for the extended break as the government prioritizes health and safety during the peak summer months.

Meanwhile, Punjab government has announced summer vacations for all government and private sector colleges across the province. According to the notification of the Higher Education Department, the colleges will remain closed from May 22, 2026 to August 22, 2026 and will reopen on Monday, August 24, 2026. While the BS 4-year program and examinations will continue as per the schedule of the university and the board.
