Chinese ambassador meets interior minister

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zhaidong met caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday,

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest came under discussion.

The interior minister reiterated Pak t resolve to continue with measures to take the decades-old ties to new heights.

He recalled the visit of Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar to China in connection with bilateral cooperation in various fields including security.

The next goal is to implement the agreements made during the visit, he added.

Sarfaraz  heaped praise on Chinese President Xi Jinping's Global Security Initiative and reiterated Paki resolve to play a due role in all kinds of international cooperation to enhance global security

All possible steps have been taken to ensure the security of Chinese citizens, the minister maintained.

The Chinese ambassador thanked the interior minister for providing the Chinese citizens with security cover.

The interior minister said Islamabad will defeat terrorists like it did in the past. The Chinese ambassador also appreciated Pakistan's role in the fight against terrorism.
