Inflation raised by 0.35 pc in a week, says report

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has a weekly report on inflation registering another increase in inflation by 0.35 per cent, 24News HD TV Channel reported Friday.

The overall rate of inflation in the country was recorded at 27.13 per cent by PBS.

The PBS data shows that during the week, out of 51 items, 23 items’ prices were increased, 14 decreased, and 14 remained unchanged.

In a week, tomatoes became expensive by Rs 5.12, a packet of 800 grams by Rs 1.90, bananas by 3.44 a dozen, ‘Nido’ milk packet by Rs 13.52, tea packet by Rs 4.30 and fresh milk by Rs 1.77 per litre.

The PSB data further shows that the price of curd, sugar, basmati rice and onion also increased.

In one week, the prices of 14 commodities decreased including lentils by Rs 10.61 and live chicken by Rs 10. 29 per kg, a 20 kg bag of flour by Rs30.33, dal mash by Rs 6.58, dal moong Rs 2.84 per kg.
