Pakistan reaffirms commitment to global peace, security 

Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to international peace and security, stressing that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, diplomacy and respect for the UN Charter and international law.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar said the international community must ensure compliance with the UN Charter and international law and seek fair and lasting solutions to conflicts through peaceful means.

He said just and sustainable solutions to conflicts should be pursued through peaceful means, adding that Pakistan had long played a significant role in UN peacekeeping missions.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan advocated a comprehensive strategy based on dialogue and diplomacy to prevent and resolve conflicts.

He said Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives, including mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, demonstrated its commitment to promoting peace. 

The Deputy Prime Minister described the unanimous adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2788 as a significant development and stressed the need to strengthen peaceful mechanisms for conflict resolution.

He noted that unresolved conflicts continued to fuel regional and global instability, while the denial of the right to self-determination and failure to implement Security Council resolutions remained obstacles to lasting peace. 

Ishaq Dar said situations involving foreign occupation, including in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, reflected this reality.

He reaffirmed that “Pakistan stands ready as a reliable partner in joint efforts for a peaceful and prosperous world.”
