Govt ready to hold talks with PTI: Sanaullah

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said Saturday that the government was ready for negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that a committee of the government would contact the PTI on April 26 next, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

While addressing a news conference in Faisalabad, the interior minister said that elections be held on the same day according to the Constitution.

He castigated that ‘Imrani Fitnah’ had been causing damage to the country for the last one year, adding that the general elections be held under the supervision of the caretaker setup.

“Elections do not seem to take place on May 14,” he said. “If elections are held in Punjab first, how will the provincial government not influence the general election?” he remarked.

He also lambasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying: “Sometimes he takes out long march, sometimes short march and sometimes he breaks assemblies.”

He stated: “We have immense respect for the judiciary. It is unfortunate to say that there are political differences in the judiciary too. The decisions of a bench have become so controversial that voices are being raised within the Supreme Court.”

He added: “Stopping the implementation of the Judicial Reforms Bill is not right in our opinion. It has never happened that the Supreme Court makes a law.”

He also pointed out that no single party had got a solution to the problems of the country. “Imran Khan is not a politician and democrat by nature. His current behaviour can seriously harm the country and the nation,” he deplored.

“We are ready for the elections. We are also in a position to gain a heavy majority in the general elections,” he maintained.

In his message to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Rana Sanaullah Khan urged the masses to share their happiness of Eid with the poor, under-privileged and the needy people of the society.

He said that the purpose of the Eid was to promote the passion of unity, brotherhood, sacrifice and generosity among Muslims.

He said: “On this joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah.”

“Eid-ul-Fitr is a day of joy and gratitude for the Muslims,” said the interior minister.

“On this occasion of Eid, we pray that Allah Almighty solves the problems of Pakistan and the Pakistani nation. May the Almighty grant Pakistan progress, prosperity and national unity,” he added.

He said that those nations reach the pinnacle of success who face the most adverse conditions with bravery and courage. Pakistanis, he said were a zealous and determined nation and would become out of all crises.

The coalition government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was working on the agenda of public service day and night, Rana Sanaullah said.
