New Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi took charge of his post on Monday, reported 24News HD TV Channel.

Before assuming charge, new IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited the Martyrs Memorial and recited Fatiha.

Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi is an officer in grade 20 of the Police Service of Pakistan. Rizvi's appointment comes after former IG Police Akbar Nasir Khan stepped down from his position on March 30.

Before his new role, Rizvi served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations in Lahore. He assumed office after being relieved by the Punjab government.

Upon his arrival at the Police Lines, all police officers were present to welcome IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. An introductory session was also conducted where IG Islamabad interacted with the police officers.
