Pakistan have increased their chances to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup with an ODI series clean sweep against the Netherlands.

Babar’s 91 and Naseem’s five-for helped Pakistan to defend 206 runs in the final ODI as Pakistan stole a compact nine-run victory over the fearless Netherlands in Rotterdam.

As a result of this thrilling win, Pakistan advanced to the number three spot in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League 2023. Pakistan are equal on points with Bangladesh but stayed at the number three spot by a minor difference of Net Run Rate.

England are leading the table with a difference of five points with Bangladesh and Pakistan.

England bagged 125 points after playing 18 ODIs while Bangladesh and Pakistan are at number 2 and 3, respectively securing 120 points each.

After beating West Indies by five wickets in a thrilling victory, New Zealand also kept their chances bright. With 10 Cricket World Cup Super League points from the win, New Zealand were able to keep their fourth-place standing and raise their total to 110 points.

West Indies, who have already played all 24 of their Super League games and are currently ranked seventh in the Super League.

Only the top eight countries on the point standings will automatically qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which will be held in India next year.

If West Indies want to stay in the competition, they would need other outcomes to go their way.
