The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has extended the date for exchanging prize bonds with heavy denominations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The extension has been granted for three months this time and now consumers can now encash their prize bonds of Rs40,000, Rs25,000, Rs15,000 and Rs7,500 by March 31.

Earlier, the State Bank had set December 31 as the deadline for encashing these prize bonds. The banks will transfer the money in consumer’s account after encashing the prize bonds.

According to the SBP, after March 31, 2022, prize bonds with above-mentioned denominations will be rendered useless.
