Prime Minister Imran Khan has appreciated the start of local government election process in the country saying that a modern and devolved local government system is hallmark of successful democracies as directly elected representatives will improve governance and provide future leadership, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

In his tweet on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote: “Amidst the noise over KP LG election, no one realises these elections are start of modern, devolved LG system as exists in successful democracies. Directly elected Tehsil nazims will improve governance & create future leadership. First time in our 74-yr history we have an empowered LG system.”
