Sparks mass singalong at Sunburn Festival
Global EDM (Electronic Dance Music) heavyweight David Guetta made a thunderous return to India after an eight-year gap, transforming Day 2 of Sunburn Festival into a euphoric, crowd-powered celebration of music, memory and sheer spectacle.
His last performance in the country was in 2017, and the anticipation surrounding his comeback was unmistakable as he took over the main stage and instantly shifted the festival into overdrive.
From the moment he stepped behind the decks, Guetta commanded the night with a relentless stream of hit anthems, turning the festival grounds into a sea of voices singing in perfect unison. The energy was high from the outset, with the DJ delivering a tightly packed, high-impact set that balanced emotional highs with explosive drops.
Midway through the performance, Guetta paused to directly engage with the audience, asking, “How are we feeling, India? Let me hear you all!” The response was deafening, reinforcing the long-standing connection between the artist and his Indian fanbase. Reflecting on his journey and that bond, he added, “I’ve been a DJ since I was 14, and we are still together,” a line that struck a chord with fans who have followed his career across decades.
Musically, the set leaned heavily into nostalgia while still feeling current and fresh. Guetta rolled out a string of his most iconic tracks—Titanium, Play Hard, Without You, and Together – each one prompting massive sing-alongs that rippled across the venue.
Alongside the classics, he delivered high-octane remixes of Fein, Where The Hell Is My Husband, Forever Young, and Give Me Everything Tonight, ensuring there was never a lull in momentum.
The production elevated the experience further, with pounding basslines, immersive visuals, dramatic lighting and perfectly timed drops coming together to mark his long-awaited return in grand style.
One of the night’s most talked-about moments came towards the end of Guetta’s set, when actor and performer Nora Fatehi made a surprise appearance on stage.
The cameo was especially striking given that she had reportedly met with an accident just hours earlier while travelling to the festival.
Despite that, she joined Guetta to offer fans a teasing glimpse of their upcoming collaboration, adding an unexpected jolt of excitement to an already electric night.
Beyond the main stage, Sunburn’s Day 2 unfolded as a dynamic, multi-stage musical journey.
Early evening performances by Realmm, Pro Bros, Novak, and Kahan vs Kunal Merchant gradually built the atmosphere, while UD-T, Thugnaari, Priyanjana, and Axl Stace kept energy levels rising across parallel stages.
Another stage featured sets by Hemaiko, WhatNot!, Mr Ciao, Boho, DJ Lion, Sublimation b2b Beatroot, Blakv Walker, Tommy Wahl, and Steve Levi, offering festivalgoers a wide range of sounds to explore.
As the night progressed, Layla Benitez, Omiki, Script, and DJ Dali carried the crowd deeper into the after-hours zone, with Almost Human and Almost Human and Friends bringing the day to a powerful close.
By the end of the night, the festival grounds pulsed with overlapping beats and shared rhythms, as fans drifted between stages, dancing and singing well into the early hours.
Day 2 of Sunburn wrapped up on an emphatic high, leaving attendees tired but exhilarated, and buzzing with excitement for the final day of Sunburn 2025.
