Dacoit who has committed 100 robberies arrested in Karachi

Police in Karachi arrested four alleged dacoits after an exchange of fire late Monday night, including the one who later confessed to have committed 100 robberies in different parts of the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Police also claimed to have recovered weapons and stolen items from their possession.
Police said they arrested Hameedur Rehman in an injured condition, while his accomplice managed to escape in an ‘encounter’ near Jamshed Quarters at Jahangir Road.
The Force said Hameed later confessed to have committed 100 dacoities in Patel Parra, Soldier Bazaar and Guru Mandir areas of the city. “Hameed was also arrested in the past for possessing weapons and explosives in Ferozeabad area of the Sindh capital,” police elaborated.
Similarly, police said when the cops raided a hideout in Khadim Solangi Goth situated at the Super Highway, the suspect got panicky and jumped from the roof in order to escape arrest, receiving injuries in the process.
The Force said the man, who was later identified as Ashiq Ahmad, was shifted to hospital for treatment.
It further claimed that eight cellphones and weapons were recovered from his possession.
According to the police, Ashiq had already been arrested four times.
In yet another encounter, police said it had arrested two persons in Pirabad Mianwali Colony.
