Travellers fume as flights cancelled due to planes shortage at Lahore Airport
Due to shortage of aircraft at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and other reasons, cancellations of domestic and international flights have become a daily routine, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
On the other hand, despite shortage of aircraft, the administration of airlines has issued new flight schedule.
According to sources, flights started getting cancelled due to more routes than planes.
In this regard, SereneAir flight ER-821 from Lahore to Jeddah was cancelled after a nine-hour delay while passengers of the flight sat helpless at Lahore Airport.
The passengers protested against the cancellation of flight and said there is no staff at the SereneAir counter and no information was given about the next flight and they have been sitting helpless at Lahore Airport since last night.
The flight was supposed to depart for Jeddah at 4:30 pm today, but it did not happen, passengers complained.
Passengers said that the airline administration is not giving any reasons for the cancellation of the flight.
They demanded, Airports Authority officials should take notice of the issues regarding the cancellation of flights today.
