A group of traders staged a protest in front of the KP Assembly in Peshawar against land grabbers, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
Muslim Market traders claimed they have been out as they have declared a 'war on land grabbing mafia'.
The protesters alleged that the mafia enjoyed the backing of the cantonment board personnel making them take to the streets to save their families as their businesses have been ruined.
The protesters blocked the road creating deep traffic trouble in front of the assembly. MPA Samar Bilour and Malik Wajid addressed the protesters. Samar vowed to stand by traders and said the Awami National Party will not leave the traders in the lurch.
The government promised job creation, he recalled, adding that the government was not elected to make people jobless. Malik Wajid assured the protester to raise the matter at all forums so that action against the persons involved in illegal activities could be taken to guard the business community. He said the lawmakers who enjoyed assembly sittings have been able to get into the building as they were voted by such people. He promised he would stand by the oppressed people.
