Renowned religious scholar Maulana Qazi Abdul Salam has passed away at 105 in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

His funeral prayers will be offered at Commerce College Shamsi Khan today at 2:30pm.

Maulana Qazi Abdul Salam has taught thousands of students since the establishment of Pakistan.

He has also been the teacher of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq and Maulana Fazlur Rehman have expressed condolences over the demise of Qazi Abdul Salam.

Police issued an alternative traffic plan for the funeral prayers of Qazi Abdul Salam.
