Miyazaki Mango, world's most expensive fruit

The Miyazaki mango, also known as "Egg of the Sun," is considered the world's most expensive mango, and it's now being grown in India.

This exotic mango, originally from Japan, is prized globally for its striking ruby-red hue, silky texture, and exceptionally sweet flavor — characteristics that have made it a symbol of luxury in fruit markets around the world.

This Japanese mango variety can fetch prices as high as Rs 10 lakh per kilogram.

Now, it's being cultivated in India, particularly in Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha, where farmers have successfully grown this rare and luxurious mango.

This mango is highly prized for its intense sweetness, creamy texture, and distinct color, which transitions from purple to a vibrant red as it ripens.

The high price is attributed to its limited availability, the careful cultivation techniques required, and the unique characteristics that make it a luxury item.

Farmers in Bihar and West Bengal, particularly in the Birbhum district, and in Odisha, have successfully grown the Miyazaki mango, making it accessible in India.

Indian farmers employ a combination of traditional knowledge and modern techniques to ensure the high quality of the mangoes, including careful sapling selection, nutrient-rich soil, and grafting techniques to maintain the mango's distinct characteristics.

In the international market, the Miyazaki mango is priced at Rs 8 to 10 lakh per kilogram. While the price may be lower in the Indian market, it remains a premium fruit.
