Multi-layered security plan announced for Nov 23 by-elections
A security advisory has been issued for the upcoming by-elections to ensure transparent polling across all constituencies, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to the security directive, police have been designated as the first-tier responders, responsible for maintaining order and responding immediately to any untoward situation at polling stations.
The advisory further stated that Civil Armed Forces will serve as the second tier, remaining on standby and ready for rapid intervention when required. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army will function as the third tier, acting as a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to handle emergencies or high-risk situations.
Security personnel will be deployed outside all highly sensitive polling stations to prevent disruptions and ensure a smooth voting process.
The advisory also highlighted strict security protocols for the printing of ballot papers, stating that the printing press will remain under tight security throughout the process.
Additionally, foolproof arrangements will be in place during the transportation of ballot papers to eliminate risks of tampering or theft.
