Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an opposition parties’ alliance, held protest demonstrations across the country after Friday prayers to protest against massive price hike, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In this connection, PDM leaders led a rally at Karachi’s Empress Road.

A similar protest was held at Lahore’s Jain Mandir Chowk, which was led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.

Similarly, protest demonstrations were held in several districts of Punjab including Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar and Jhang.

The opposition parties’ alliance also planned to hold rallies and demonstrations in several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) such as Peshawar, Swat, Shangla and others.

Likewise, protests were also held in several cities of Balochistan such as Quetta, Kalat, Mastung, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Zhob and others.

Reports are that police in Lahore have refused to provide security cover to the PDM’s demonstration planned at Jain Mandir Chowk since the alliance leaders have not sought permission from the district administration as yet.
