Mohsin Naqvi rejects propaganda about closure of mosques, seminaries

The central leadership of Sunni Tehreek (ST) has assured Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of their full cooperation in promoting interfaith harmony across the country, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

During his visit to Karachi, Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with ST Chairman Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, where both leaders emphasised the need to strengthen religious harmony and national unity.

Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the valuable contributions of religious scholars in fostering peace and stability in Pakistan.

In the meeting, Chairman Sarwat Ejaz Qadri pledged complete support for efforts aimed at enhancing religious tolerance and harmony.

The meeting was also attended by senior Sindh ministers Sharjeel Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah, who accompanied the Interior Minister during the visit.

Prominent leaders of Sunni Tehreek, including President Sahibzada Allama Bilal Abbas Qadri, Secretary General Sahibzada Allama Bilal Saleem Qadri, Tayyab Hussain Qadri, Abdullah Akram Qadri, Salman Qadri, Shehbaz Qadri, Imran Qadri, and Darvesh Raza Abbasi, were also present on the occasion.

Dispelling rumours, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed recent concerns and reiterated that no religious school (madrasa) or mosque would be shut down. He called such claims mere propaganda.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasised that Islam is a religion of peace and love, with no place for violence or provocation.

He asserted that while every citizen has the right to protest within the bounds of law, it is imperative now more than ever for all Pakistanis to unite for the nation’s future.

He further stated that Pakistan has already taken off on the path to progress, and every citizen must play a constructive role in this journey.

He added that throughout history, religious scholars have played a crucial role in standing for truth and justice.
