Lahorites get 24/7 driving license facility

Punjab Inspector General Police Faisal Shahkar Thursday inaugurated CTPL Smart 24/7 Licensing Center in Manawan Lines, Lahore to facilitate citizens.
It will lead to convenience where citizens can get services at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Punjab IGP said that along with stern observation of traffic laws, the provision of driving licenses to citizens is the first priority of Punjab Police.
Punjab IG directed that the process of issuance of driving license should be made easier for citizens and provision of other services to the citizens should also be continued with full transparency with effective use of modern technology.
He said that the strict enforcement of traffic rules leads to the protection of precious human lives by reducing the number of accidents on the roads, so the traffic officials should perform their duties diligently on the roads and provide convenience to the citizens by ensuring the constant flow of traffic.
Punjab IG said that driving license services should be provided to elderly and women citizens on a priority basis and coordination with Safe City cameras should be made more effective to improve traffic management in Lahore.
CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar and CTO Lahore Muntazer Mehdi while giving a briefing to Punjab IG about the working of Smart Licensing Center said that facilities like new, international, learner permit, duplicate, renewal or license verification will be available in Smart Licensing Center which will be fully transparent through Queumatic Management System.
CTO Lahore while giving a briefing said that 22 learner's booths and 6 driving testing centres are working in Lahore at the moment while a separate licensing centre has also been established in Liberty for women.
Punjab IG asked about the facilities available and the attitude of the staff from the citizens coming to the centre and appreciated the role of traffic police in providing police services to the citizens. Citizens thanked Punjab IG for providing modern facilities and a transparent process.
At the end of the ceremony, a truck of relief goods was also sent by City Traffic Police Lahore for the flood victims.
The opening ceremony was attended by CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Additional IG Traffic, while on this occasion DIG Operations, DIG Investigation, DIG SPU, DIG VIP Security and CTO Lahore along with other officers were also present.
