Crackdown launched against drug smugglers in Balochistan  

In the light of instructions from Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and local organisations in Balochistan have launched a massive crackdown on drug smugglers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

The purpose of the crackdown is to purge Balochistan of drug culture, and already the opium crop has been destroyed in several parts of the province.  Besides that, action has also been taken against the people who are involved in the cultivation and supply of narcotics.

The authorities also plan to generate alternative employment opportunities for the people, so that they could be discouraged from supplying drugs in order to earn their livelihoods.  

The war against narcotics is a national duty. And the government, the law-enforcement agencies and the people all have to play their role in the elimination of drug culture.
