Four dacoits dead in two encounters with Gujranwala police

Four dacoits were gunned down, and six escaped hails of bullets during two police encounters in Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The first police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Aroop Police Station in which two notorious dacoits were killed during an exchange of fire.

In the second police encounter, which took place in the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station in Wazirabad, a Crime Control Department (CCD) team signalled suspicious persons who were riding a motorcycle to stop, but the accused started firing on the CCD team.

During a severe firing between dacoits and the CCD team, two dacoits died after receiving gunshots from their accomplices.

CCD sources said that four accomplices of the dacoits escaped from the scene. Later, the CCD team shifted the dead bodies of dacoits to the hospital for autopsy.

The dead dacoits were later identified as Ali Ahmad, Yasir, Sanwal and Sameer. The suspects were wanted by the police due to their involvement in serious criminal cases.

A district officer of CCD said different police teams start operations to apprehend the companions of the accused.
