Naqvi urges Pakistan women’s team to play fearlessly ahead of ICC World Cup

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed his best wishes to the national women’s cricket team ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, urging them to play without fear or pressure and to fight until the very last ball, 24NewsHD TV  reported.

During his visit to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday, Naqvi met the women’s national players and their coaches following the conclusion of the ODI series against South Africa.

Naqvi presented the series-winning trophy to South African captain following the ODI competition.

He commended the national team’s spirited performance and encouraged them to carry their momentum and confidence into the upcoming global tournament.

“You must play fearlessly, without any pressure, and always fight till the last ball.

Remember, success is always the outcome of teamwork,” Naqvi advised the players, highlighting unity and determination as the keys to success at the international stage.

As part of his encouragement, the PCB Chairman announced a special cash reward for the players.

 He declared a prize of Rs 2 million for opening batter Sidra Ameen, who impressed with back-to-back centuries in the recent series.

In addition, each member of the squad will receive Rs 1 million as recognition of their collective efforts and achievements.

The PCB chief reiterated his full support to the women’s side, assuring that their hard work and consistency are being acknowledged at the highest level.

“Your performances have brought pride to Pakistan. Keep pushing forward with the same courage and discipline in the World Cup,” he added.

He further underlined that “success is always the result of teamwork”, encouraging the women cricketers to remain united and trust in their collective strength.
