LPG shopkeeper attacks Civil Defence team during raid

A shopkeeper and his accomplices allegedly attacked a Civil Defence team during a crackdown on illegal Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling shop on Bund Road in Lahore on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Officials accused the shopkeeper of attempting to target them with a gas hose after his illegal refilling pump was sealed. The Civil Defence team, operating under the supervision of CDO Ashfaq Ahmed, was conducting an operation against illegal LPG decanting and open petrol sales at the Mehr Abdullah LPG point. 

During the operation, officials confiscated and sealed the illegal refilling equipment, enraging the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper is said to have opened a gas valve and pointed the hose towards the Civil Defence officials, in what the officials described as an attempt to burn them with gas.

The shopkeeper and his accomplices allegedly assaulted and beat the government officials during the confrontation.

Subsequently, a case has been registered at Lower Mall Police Station, while police have arrested two suspects in connection with the incident.
