The Pak-Afghan one-day international (ODI) series will be held in Pakistan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
A spokesperson for the Afghan Cricket Board, Hikmatullah, confirmed that the series will be held in Pakistan in the first week of September.
The event was scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka where authorities had imposed lockdown in wake of a steep surge in coronavirus cases last week.
The cricket series was in doubt due to the uncertainty in the war-torn country following the Taliban takeover.
However, according to sources, the Taliban told the Afghanistan Cricket Board to carry on activities as usual.
Islamabad had issued visas to Afghan cricketers and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry expressed hope the sportspersons from Afghanistan would bring "smiles to the faces of their people".
