Woman killed by husband in Jacobabad
A man was arrested in Daska after allegedly assaulting and torturing his wife during a domestic dispute and cutting her hair with scissors, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to police, the woman, identified as Tafshala Imran, called the emergency helpline and reported the incident. She alleged that her husband, Muhammad Saleem, verbally abused her before cutting her hair with scissors.
Police reached the scene after receiving information from the Virtual Women Police Station and arrested Saleem. A case was registered against him on the woman’s complaint.
Sialkot District Police Officer Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad took notice of the incident and ordered legal action.
The DPO said violence, humiliation and coercion against women would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that protecting women was a top priority of Sialkot Police.
Woman killed by husband in Jacobabad
Meanwhile, a woman was allegedly killed by her husband in the name of honour in Jacobabad.
Police said Naziran was allegedly shot dead by her husband, Ghaus Bakhsh Khoso, who fled the scene after the incident.
The victim’s body was shifted to hospital for a post-mortem examination, while police cordoned off the area and began efforts to arrest the alleged killer.
