M-5 Motorway accident claims four lives

A tragic road accident claimed four lives and left three others injured after a passenger bus collided with an ambulance near the Zahir Pir Interchange on M-5 Motorway. The accident occurred amid dense fog and overspeeding, according to initial reports.

The ambulance was transporting the body of Jamshed from Karachi to Shahr-e-Sultan when the collision took place.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, three brothers travelling in the ambulance — Zahid Baloch, Shahid Baloch and Salim Khan — also lost their lives. The ambulance driver, who hailed from Karachi, was killed in the crash as well. The three brothers belonged to Shahr-e-Sultan.

Rescue Officer Aminullah said that three people sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan for medical treatment. He added that preliminary findings suggested the accident occurred after the ambulance driver fell asleep at the wheel.

Funeral prayers for the four deceased, including the three brothers, were offered in Shahr-e-Sultan. Member of the National Assembly Sardar Moazzam Jatoi, along with local elders and a large number of citizens, attended the funeral.

As the coffins of four members of the same family were brought together, the scene turned deeply emotional, with mourners struggling to hold back tears. The victims were laid to rest amid an atmosphere of grief and sorrow, as Shahr-e-Sultan continues to mourn the loss caused by the tragic accident.
