World Kashmir Awareness Forum Secretary-General Ghulam Nabi Fai has expressed gratitude to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusogl for raising the Kashmir issue at the 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The people of Kashmir are grateful to Turkey for explaining the principle of the Kashmir cause, Fai said, adding the Erdogan administration has consistently been following the policy of speak for marginalized people with the world powers.
The Turkish FM said: “We reiterate our call to the government of India to ease current restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir. We wish for the resolution of the issue through peaceful means on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions and the legitimate expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The statement of Turkish FM followed the remarks of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres about the Kashmir issue but the Indian government has been refusing to budge. The human rights champions stressed that time has come that the world powers need to find the solution to the bone of contention between India and Pakistan.
