An advocate of the Supreme Court, through an application submitted to Supreme Judicial Council, accused the apex court judge Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, for amassing assets beyond his known sources of income, besides being guilty of misconduct, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Advocate Mian Daud, while talking to media persons outside Supreme Court building, said he had filed a reference against Justice Mazhar Ali Naqvi in judicial council. 

He said asset details of Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi had been submitted through the reference. 

He said Justice Naqvi had properties beyond his known sources of income. A purported audio leak of Justice Naqvi is also taking rounds in media. “We have requested the Supreme Judicial Council to investigate the matter,” Mian Daud said. 

“If his act falls under the misconduct, the SJC should take action against the judge,” he said. 

“Justice Mazhar Naqvi changed the statements of his assets thrice. There are some assets of Justice Naqvi which have never been brought on record,” Mian Daud claimed.  

“The judge has owned many properties with the help of his frontmen. Two sons of Justice Mazhar Naqvi practicing law in Lahore High Court and with their help, he is accumulating wealth,” he alleged. 

“Frontman Zahid Rafique is notorious in legal fraternity for earning money through his influence. With an account, expenses incurred on educational activities of Justice Naqvi’s daughter are paid,” he claimed.  

Alleging that Justice Mazhar had been guilty of misconduct and amassing assets beyond his known sources of income, he requested the Supreme Judicial Council to investigate the allegations leveled against the judge.
