The mother of Bano, the woman who had been killed along with her paramour in Balochistan town for honour three days before Eidul Adha, said on Wednesday that the murder of her daughter, a mother of five children, was in accordance with Baloch norms and traditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a video statement, she said that Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai, the main suspect in the case, was innocent. “So he and others, taken into custody in connection with the incident, must immediately be set free,” she demanded.

She further said that Bano had committed an act, which was against the principles of her tribe. “So she was made to pay for that,” she added.

Bano, she went on to say, eloped with her paramour named Ihsan and stayed with him for 25 days. “And instead of showing any remorse over his conduct, her paramour kept threatening my son, Jalal Khan, that he would kill him,” she said, adding, “It was then that our tribe decided to kill both of them. And at last they were taken to the mountains where they were shot dead.”

Bano’s mother said that after all, they were all Baloch and could not remain silent on a matter of honour.

She also hit out at Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, on whose orders raids were being conducted for the arrest of those involved in the incident.

“I admit that my daughter was not a minor that she could not understand the consequences of her act,” she said, adding, “She was the mother of five kids. Her eldest son is 17-year-old, the other one is 16-year-old, the third one is 12-year-old, a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.”
