Per-km fare recommended for Orange Line train passengers

The Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) Thursday sent recommendations to the government for charging per kilometer fare from passengers on the Orange Line Metro Train in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It was stated in the PMA’s recommendations that charging per kilometer fare from the passengers would increase the number of passengers.

It was recommended to set the fare of 4km journey on the Orange Line Metro Train at Rs20.

It was recommended to set the fare of 4-8km journey on the Orange Line Metro Train at Rs25.

It was proposed that the fare of 8-12km journey on the Orange Line Metro Train should be at Rs30.

It was proposed that the fare of 12-16km journey on the Orange Line Metro Train should be at Rs35.

The government was also recommended to set the fare of above 16km journey on the Orange Line Metro Train at Rs40.

It was claimed that the implementation of new recommendations would increase the number of passengers by 150,000 on a daily basis.

It was also claimed that the implementation of new recommendations would also generate a revenue of Rs4 million on a daily basis.
