Like the previous two years, new currency notes will not be issued for public on this Eidul Fitr also as per the decision of State Bank of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting its sources.

The decision of the State Bank not to issue new currency notes spread disappointment among the citizens who were making rounds of private banks to get new notes.

However, even the private banks’ administration refused to provide new currency notes to the citizens.

According to sources, new currency notes could not be issued to customers due to non-issue of new notes policy by the State Bank.

On the other hand, currency mafia is active and selling bundles of new notes in black around the State Bank Building in Lahore.
