Civil awards bestowed on national icons at Punjab Governor's House

A grand civil awards ceremony was held at Governor House Punjab to mark Pakistan Day, where individuals with outstanding contributions in various fields were honoured, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.

According to the report, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider distributed awards on behalf of the President of Pakistan, recognising exceptional services in literature, arts, journalism, and public service.

The recipients included:

Sitara-e-Imtiaz: Colin David (posthumously) (received by his wife, Prof Dr Rukhsana David), Mian Aziz Ahmed (posthumously) (received by his son, Mian Rafiq Ahmed), and Salma Awan.

Presidential Award for Pride of Performance: Actor Hamid Rana, Shabiha Hassan, Singer Fariha Pervez, and Aamir Ishtiaq.

Tamgha-e-Imtiaz: Dr Rafiuddin, Ahmed Shakeel Butt, Rubab Sikandar, Anchorpersons Kamran Shahid, Muneeb Farooq, and senior journalists Nasrullah Malik & Muzammil Suhrawardy.

The event highlighted the immense contributions of these individuals in their respective fields, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to honouring excellence.
