Sialkot corona vaccine centre catches fire

A fire broke out in the corona vaccination centre’s vaccine room of Sardar Begum Hospital in Sialkot on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Officials said the fire burned the vaccine freezer placed in the room, but the vaccine inside it was safe.

The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.

The Rescue personnel rushed to the spot after receiving the information and doused the fire quickly.

Earlier in the day, Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid said Punjab has administered 2.8 million citizens of the province against the COVID-19 and plans to set up six more vaccination centres.

The Punjab government wants to take the daily inoculation capacity of corona vaccine up to 450,000 per day in July.
