Metro bus catches fire in Rawalpindi

Fire erupted in a metro bus, en route from Islamabad to Rawalpindi, near Sixth Road metro station in Rawalpindi on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The fire that erupted in the engine soon engulfed the entire bus.

The administration, however, said that there was no loss of life since there was no passenger travelling in the bus at the time of the incident.

The smoke and flames billowing from the bus could even be seen from far places.

As soon as they received information, rescue teams rushed to the spot to extinguish the blaze.

However, cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

Firefighters were busy dousing the flames till the filing of this report.

Metro bus service suspended

Metro bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad had to be temporarily suspended after a metro bus caught fire on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The bus was completely gutted in the incident, while firefighters were busy extinguishing the blaze till last reports came in.

All passengers managed to get off the bus on their own.

Contrary to that, the administration had said that there was no one travelling in the bus at that time.

It is worth-mentioning here that this is the second incident of fire in a metro bus during the ongoing month.

These incidents have instilled fear in the hearts of passengers.
