Violations of SOPs continue in by-elections across country

Voting in polling station number 201, NA-96, Jarranwala had to be stopped on Sunday following an altercation between the polling agents of the PML-N and independent candidates, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A citizen told the 24News TV channel that voting had been stalled for the last two hours.Voters said they had been queuing up for the last two hours, but they had not been allowed to go inside.

Violation of the Election Commission's SOPs in PP-98 Chak Jhumra and in PP-116 Faisalabad by-elections surfaced as the video of voters casting their votes went viral on social media.

According to the report, voters took mobile phones to polling stations and started making videos.A video of casting a vote in NA-18 Haripur also surfaced and went viral on social media.  Meanwhile, workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) came face to face and chanted slogans against the leadership of the opposing political parties in Lahore NA-129 by-election.  PML-N workers shout slogans in favour of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.PML-N leader Bilal Farooq Tarar was also present at the scene. 

Meanwhile, violation of election code of conduct was seen in NA-96 where a citizen made a video while casting his vote. Later he uploaded the video of the vote on social media. In the video, the citizen can be seen stamping the lion symbol.
