Dacoit killed in Rajanpur shootout

One of the dacoits’ own accomplices was killed when they opened fire at a police van on Rojhan Indus Highway at Rajanpur, south Punjab on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
DPO Rajanpur Muhammad Afzal said that Nazim Abbas, the slain dacoit, was a key member of Dullani gang, who was wanted by police in connection with several cases of murder, kidnapping and robberies.
DPO Afzal further said that the police van was badly damaged in firing by the dacoits.
He informed that the dacoits were chasing a bus on the Indus Highway for robbing the passengers. “And when a team of Rojhan police station saw them doing this, the dacoits opened fire at the van, which resulted in the killing of one of their own accomplices,” he informed.
The DPO further said that soon a heavy contingent of police reached site of the incident, while search for the dacoits had been launched.
