Ushna Shah advocates for divorce stigma-busting project

She took to the microblogging website ‘X’, formally known as Twitter, and raised her concerns that the producers of the Pakistani drama industry should prepare a script based on the divorce issue which may face a societal backlash as it is very challenging.‘Habs’ star said she worked on many scripts that feel shame around divorce. She wrote that she was a child of a divorcee who hustled with three jobs to raise her and her siblings.

“The stigma on divorced characters feels deeply personal. I’m eager to be part of a story that addresses the stigma of divorce and combats the shame of being single after, celebrating the journey to independence and joy”, the actress wrote.

Her commitment to breaking stereotypes and addressing real-life issues in her work demonstrates her dedication to creating meaningful and impactful narratives that resonate with a wide audience.
