Three members of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have joined the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), 24News HD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Dr Talat and their brothers announced joining the opposition. Dr Talat was performing his duties in the provincial cabinet of the PTI’s Sindh chapter as a seasoned and influential politician from the Dadu district.
He was previously elected a member of the national assembly on the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) but joined PTI after getting some differences from the local leadership of the party.
On Tuesday, Dr Talat announced his resignation from the PTI and re-joining of PPP under the leadership of the party chairman. Pertinent to mention here that Dr Talat’s brother Rafiq Mahesar was a Member of the Sindh Assembly and he was a son-in-law of late federal minister Haji Zafar Leghari.
He was elected to the National Assembly from Constituency NA-233 (Dadu-II) as a candidate of PPP in the 2008 Pakistani general election. He received a total of 83,493 votes and defeated Ihsan Ali Jatoi, a candidate of PML-Q with a good margin.
Earlier, he contested general elections in 2002 as an independent candidate but was defeated by Liaquat Ali Jatoi.
